direct access. The former kitchen design stipulated pantry access through a small hallway with a built-in desk. It also required a range setup in place of preferred double wall ovens and a cooktop. The pantry reconfiguration enlarged a cabinetry nook for wall ovens and provides direct access from kitchen to pantry.

painless journey. A deeper counter area maximizes space in an alcove and provides storage for often-used appliances such as Michelle’s stand mixer. In her case, an easy lift with a short walk trumps bending or reaching for heavy machinery.
